Film Shooting Today in Carroll Gardens.

You may see Liam Neeson in the neighborhood today or one of the other co-stars of the Feature Film Run All Night (Vincent D'Onofrio, Ed Harris, Common), which is shooting today in Carroll Gardens.  We saw this sign on Henry near 2nd place.  You may be able to tell from the title and that it's starring Liam Neeson that this is a drama/thriller.  "An aging hitman is forced to take on his brutal former boss to protect his estranged son and his family."  Maybe we'll see some stunts!

Funny Flyer!

There is a flyer taped up near Maybelle's on Henry Street. It says "Lost Ring", as you can see in the picture above. What you may not be able to see is the small print at the bottom which we've written below.

Last Seen: On a chain around my neck

Description: Gold inscription written in the elvish language, causes invisibility when worn, amy cause malevolence.

If found, please call Frodo Baggins 190-326-9620

Will be rewarded with greater essence of Atheias.

Pretty funny prank. Or is it a prank?

The Green Horns Come to Carroll Gardens

The Green Horns come to Sackett Street and Henry- right across the street from Naidre's!
The abandoned pharmacy located at the corner of Sackett and Henry Street is opening as a new farmers market. They are having an opening party June 20th and the store will officially be open by the beginning of July.
This space has been empty the whole 6 years I have lived here and I am really excited that this space is going on. Anybody have anymore details about the group?

Crave Catering! Crave Restaurant?

On January 28th- Crave posted this on their yelp page:
Crave has closed our restaurant

"Thank you for supporting Crave Restaurant. We are know a full service caterer and event planning company. Please visit http://cravecateringny..."

http://www.yelp.com/biz/crave-catering-and-events-brooklyn

This used to be one of my favorite places in the neighborhood before the competition of The Grocery and Buttermilk Channel arrived.
I had tried to go there last week and got a message on their voice mail stating the change and I went once before Christmas on a Tuesday night and realized it wasn't open when I arrived.
It is sad to see another great restaurant close in the neighborhood but at least they are converting their current business instead of completely closing up shop, like many other places.
Hopefully they will be ably to survive as a caterer.
