Plan for Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is right around the corner, May 13th this year. It's always a little hard to get reservations so it's definitely a good idea to plan ahead. Consider this a friendly reminder from us to do just that. There are plenty of great brunch spots in the neighborhood. Buttermilk Channel, Fort Defiance, and Prime Meats are among our favorites. Many restaurants will have prix fixe menus. We've copy and pasted the Prime Meats and Frankies menus for the day below. Brunch is from 10-4:30 and is $35 per person.

Francis Louis

Did you know that the Prime Meats and Frankies Sputino owners, or the two Franks (Frank Falcinelli and Frank Castronovo), also have a catering and event company? We've known that Frankies has had an event space in the back of the restaurant, a beautiful room for large parties which is actually a converted blacksmith's stable, but we didn't know they had officially become caterers as well. According to their website they will serve at the location of your choice if you'd rather not have your party at the restaurant. Contact info is as follows.

Beer and Wine Dinners.

There are a couple of special dinner events coming up soon in two of the best restaurants in the neighborhood. One at Buttermilk Channel that they're calling a "Winemaker's Dinner" and the "Untapped Beer Dinner" at Prime Meats. Here are the details.

Buttermilk Channel will host a $100 four-course winemaker's dinner with Jared Brandt of a Donkey and Goat Winery on Thursday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. Naturally, chef Ryan will roast a whole goat for the occasion. [Grub Street]

PrimeMeats & sixpoint will be hosting Untapped Beer Dinner on March 15. $55 for 4 courses. Only 40 seats available so RSVP ASAP at events@frankspm.com
