New Tenant at Old Five Guys.

Now, this is irony.  The space at 266 Court Street in Cobble Hill that used to be a Five Guys Burgers and Fries will soon become a fitness studio.  We saw this sign recently.  It's called Pure Barre and according their website it "is a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs and burns fat in record-breaking time. Utilizing the ballet barre to perform small isometric movements set to fantastic music".  The Five Guys tiles are still up so it may be a little while before the transformation but this sign is a start.

Zero Guys.

It looks as though the Five Guys Burgers and Fries that opened on Court Street not too long ago is no longer.  We've heard that the place is now closed, gutted, and has a sign on the door thanking people for their patronage and asking us to please visit their Montague location.  This is both surprising and not so surprising at the same time.  Given the excellent location right a cross from the Cobble Hill movie theater (perfect spot to grab a quick meal when you're running late for a flick), it's very family friendly and has a good reputation for being pretty delicious, it's strange that they only lasted a little over a year.  The place, however, never seemed that crowded and with all the competing burgers in the area, made with better quality ingredients, it's not too surprising.  Oh well.  Grubstreet also wrote about the closing (above pic) and seemed a little shocked too.  We've got enough burgers, now we can only hope for a really delicious Indian restaurant!

Five Guys moving outside?

We were walking by Five Guys Burgers and Fries, at 266 Court St, recently and noticed a sign in the front window announcing a public hearing coming up pretty soon. The hearing will be regarding the petition for an enclosed outdoor cafe for Five Guys for the length of two years to start. We'd like to hear what you have to say about the idea of a outdoor seating area at 266 Court. If you have an opinion one way or another as to whether it would be a welcome addition to the neighborhood or a nuisance please comment. And if you're interested in attending the public hearing the info is as follows.
