Children's Art Classes

We were very excited to learn that Muriel Guepin Gallery has art classes for children. We love this gallery and after picking up a brochure and browsing it we found that the classes they are offering are just as unique as the gallery itself. These sessions, which include learning different ways to create animals in their animal kingdom class, fantasy art, animation, and a class called "having fun with abstraction" are specialized for certain ages groups. In all, they have classes for 2 year olds to teens. Winter session starts on Jan 9th so enrollment is going on now. You can check out their website here for more classes and info on enrollment.

Have something you want to teach? Brooklyn Brainery, a learning space at 515 Court, is looking for people to share their knowledge. We've already covered the Brainery in a previous blog and we've even taught our own real estate class over there and it was so much fun that we wanted to let everyone know not only about the awesome classes they have but the oppurtunities for a great teaching experience. Weekend Pop-Up Shop

Artscetera, an art studio/classroom mainly for children, used their space to display and sell locally made arts,crafts, and other homemade products this past Sunday. This was the grand opening for a new weekend market they call the Pop-Up Shop. The vendors featured this last Sunday included Overall Baby (children's overalls), Kataplin (baby, kids and adult clothing), Lio and Linn (jewelry), Nordea Soaperia (handmade soap..duh), Barefoot Books (children books), and PurtyBird (little knickknacks including bird figurines). Many of these vendors come from the Etsy community.

The studio/shop is located at 212 Smiths Street in Cobble Hill and the Pop-Up Shop is open on Sundays from 11AM-6PM. Vendors change weekly so if you'd like to check out who will be there in advance or for more information you can visit their website www.artscetera.com

Brooklyn Collective

Brooklyn Collective has re-opened in a bigger and better space that we here at Realty Collective rented to them. After the closing of General Nightmare, the folks at Brooklyn Collective needed a space they could call their own and we stepped up to the plate to help them find their new home.

Brooklyn Collective is more than just a shop, it's an artisan gallery that houses designers whose work ranges the gamut and is unique in that all the members share the rent and keep 100% percent of their profits. They also host bi-monthly PR parties for artists to showcase their work and membership also includes a permanent page on the Brooklyn Collective Web Site.

Their new space is three times the size of their old digs which is great for their mixers, art shows and what's more in the new space they will be having a working studio in the back for artists and offering art classes!
