Hello Hook!

The former "Hook" in Red Hook will soon reopen!!! as "Hello Brooklyn".

The newly revamped performance venue in Red Hook is set to have its first event February 28th 2009 but hasn't history shown that Red Hook is not the place for music venues?!
Red Hook was said to be the next Williamsburg just 3 or so years back but it never seemed to come full circle. Even with the Hook's shuttle bus service to cart their customers back and forth from the subway to the venue it couldn't survive.
Their first event looks like it will be a rave! Didn't these also die in the 90's?
The party is being held to help raise funds for a party bunker for when the apocalypse comes.
I hope they are being sarcastic.

  1. Hook sucks, or, sorry, now it's Hello Brooklyn. We traveled 2 hours last night only to see lost and crying young people outside the entrance, separated from their friends and kicked out in numbers by the bullies at the door, who also refused to let us in. The four of us stayed around to calm a few friends and then just turned around and headed home. The last thing I remember was a girl crying out on the frost covered sidewalk; the security pushed her out of the club based on a suspicion that she may have spoken poorly of them in Russian or French, or some language they have no clue in. The whole scene was ridiculous, seeing our friends violently ushered out into the cold, must have been at least 5 in half an hour that we were there. I will never set foot in this venue and my advise to others will be - follow suite. Steer clear of this place. It was beyond bad experience.
