Renegade Crafts

This past weekend the Renegade Craft Fair was held at McCarren Park in Williamsburg. Hundreds of local craftspeople came together to show off their wares over the beautiful weekend. So we biked on up to see what it was all about. The park was packed with people parousing the stands and italian ice vendors squeezed through the windinng paths selling their sweet treats to hot shoppers. we saw tons of awesome things but here are a few of our favorites...

Smoke and Daggers' jewelry for the hardened romantic. Somewhat masculin but beautifully made jewelry by two awesome guys. Their materials include used bullet shells, keys, electronics parts, and found metals, adorned with hand sculpted pieces and precious gems. check them out here:

amazinging crafted hand bound books and paper goods from May Day Studio, made me feel like an amateur binder, but inspired me to get better! owning one of these books is like owning a piece of art that you get to enhance by filling its pages. styles range from the traditional cloth covered hard bound book to coptic stitched books with bingo card covers. check them out here:

Tugboat Printshops beautiful blockprints would be a lovely addition to any art collection. The intricately carved blocks they had on display were just as beautiful as the artwork for sale. beautiful ocean scenes and sea creatures you'd love to hang on your walls.

so it was an awesome day of arts and crafts and at the end we hopped back on our bikes and stopped at Bagel Smith on bedford ave, for a different type of handcrafted goodness, the best bagels you ever tasted! yum!
