166 Smith Street under construction.

Blogs and residents around the neighborhood have always called the building at 166 Smith Street, formerly owned by the MTA, a huge "eyesore". Well, scaffolding is up and the space is ready to be transformed from the nearly windowless concrete cube to a mixed use building designed by Grasso-Menziuso Architects. People seem to have mixed feelings about their work but agree it will be an improvement no matter what. We took the picture above weeks ago and the new one below only days ago. Work has begun!
