I have recently moved to Carroll Gardens. One evening my friend came over with her son who is seven. I have a three year old boy and a seven year old boy. She suggested we go to Lucali, which is on Henry Street between Carroll and Summit Streets. It is a pizza place, but not just any pizza place. It is dimly lit and filled with candles, not exactly the restaurant to take three boys, but she said the pizza was yummy, so ok, I would attempt it with a three year old. We ordered a cheese pizza and sat and waited. We watched the pizza makers rolling the dough with wine bottles. I watched my three year old use the metal stand to hold the pizza as a hat. The place is so charming and great for date night, there were a few couples in there, I don't think they were feeling very romantic when my three year old screamed and we had to leave for some air and a good talking to. The pizza arrived in a decent amount of time and was so good, thin crispy crust with the perfect amount of tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Fresh basil was served on a side plate and enhanced the simplicity of the ingredients. The boys devoured it and begged for more. The pizza is outstanding, and the ambience lovely. I will definitely go back, next time with a date.

Fultummys!!!!- hopefully yummy in the tummy!

After month's (about 8) of renovations and banging next door it looks like Fultummy's is opening sometime this week says the owner. They have 1 lighting violation they need to clear with the city but after that it looks like they will ready to open their doors. Considering how bad Piccolo was anything is an improvement but it is really going to be great for the block considering the closing of Reds and several other empty store fronts.
Welcome Fultummy's!

We're 'token' up dude!

The artist is a very approachable and cool guy. I'm happy to say I own a couple of the quirky little things.

100 Albany Ave is House of the Day!!

Our gorgeous listing at 100 Albany Ave gets love for the details from Brownstoner. (People are iffy about the block, but we love it.)

Interesting comments thread about the spindle work. What do you think?

It's not a recession, it's an opportunity!

Via New York Magazine, eight stories of folks who used the real estate downturn to buy the homes they'd been waiting and saving for. Almost makes up for that nasty Red Hook swipe from last year...

Couple sued for installing Ikea kitchen!

Alas, we thought the Age of Austerity might bring a return to normalcy. Instead, some jamoke rents a ginormous pad from some Icelandic retailers and then complains about the "ugly" kitchen. Oh, did I say "complains about"? I meant "sues over".
