We're mentioned in NYTimes' "The Hunt"!

Check this article out! Realty Collective and the lovely and talented Tina Fallon are mentioned and Tina also adds some commentary!  Through the Brooklyn Based sponsored class we spoke at, "Buying into Brooklyn", which you all may have heard us mention once or twice on here, Tina met a young couple looking to buy a home.  This article follows the process the couple went through in order to finally find the right space.  Very cool!

The Total Red Hook Immersion.

We're sponsors of this event this weekend, along with Brooklyn Based and Brooklyn Brewery!  Come check it out!  It's this Saturday, June 8th from noon-6pm in Red Hook.  In addition to free brews and discounts to really great shops around Red Hook, their will be live music at Jalopy theater towards the end of the day.  Read more about this event below as seen on Brooklyn Based.

To take part in this neighborhood-wide celebration, you’ll need to score one of our 500 FREE Immersion cards, a golden ticket that will get you complimentary brews at Brooklyn Ice HouseRocky Sullivan’sFort Defiance and Jalopy Tavern; complimentary Local 1, Local 2, or Sorachi Ace over brunches at The Good Fork, Kevin’s and Home/Made, plus 15% off at local shops like Foxy & Winston and Brooklyn Slate Company, $2 off lobster rolls from Red Hook Lobster Pound and more sweet deals. A full map of participants to date is here.
For the truly adventurous (and inveterate Instagrammers), we’ll challenge you to five dares on the day of the immersion. Those who actually follow through, with pictures to prove it, will win great prizes like a private tour of Brooklyn Winery and a class for two at Pioneer Works.
And for the first year ever, we’ll also have live music at our after party, thanks to our supporting sponsor Realty Collective. Jalopy Theater is opening up early to host rising electro-folk-pop stars, Wyatt, who’ll be playing a free show at 5pm before heading to BAM for a later gig.
To get in on all the deals, the beers, and the show, you’ll need to pick up an immersion card, which we will be handing out at both Brooklyn Ice House and Rocky Sullivan’s starting at noon. We suggest arriving early to snag one–last year we passed out all 500 cards in an hour. And be sure to follow @BrooklynBased and @BrooklynBrewery on Twitter for updates on how many cards are left, random giveaways, and other tomfoolery.

Lessons Learned the Hard Way

Come hear us speak on July 10th at this "Story Slam".  Haha.  Love that term.  Brooklyn Based presents "Lessons Learned the Hard Way".  It's at DeKalb Market, which is a really cool spot if you haven't been there.  Here's some more info from the Brooklyn Based website:

Among the guests are butcher Tom Mylan of The Meat Hook, the soon-to-be proprietor of Royal Palms Shuffleboard Jonathan Schnapp, Rose Red and Lavender owner Kimberly Sevilla, Realty Collective founder Victoria Hagman, L Magazine and Brooklyn Magazine president and owner Daniel Stedman, theSweeeten.com founder Jean Laurer, serial entrepreneur and product development whiz Jason Fried (Myopenbar, Thunderclap.it), Robicelli’s cupcake queen Allison Robicelli, and many more. Together they’ll be sharing five-minute tales of “lessons learned the hard way”–terrible first jobs that taught them all they know, misguided choices, and other funny, inspiring stories about their work.

Everyone is welcome, and other indie business owners are encouraged to sign up for a storytelling slot on the spot (if you want to practice before you share your tale, each story slot has a five-minute max). Just RSVP here–when you do you’ll also be entitled to a 10% discount at select shops at DeKalb Market and two dollars off beer from 6-7pm.

It's not mentioned above but Tina Fallon will also be speaking!  Come hang!
