Three South Brooklyn Halloween Parades.

This weekend will mark the start of Halloween celebrations!  As you already know, unless you're new to this area, we really do it up for Halloween in our hood.  There are so many activities for kids starting this Saturday.  And three parades! You could probably hit them all if you wanted.  Carroll Park will have one on Saturday at 11:30am, Mother Cabrini Park's (above and below) will be on Sunday the 27th starting at 10am and the annual Halloween Parade that's actually on Halloween is at Cobble Hill Park and starts promptly at 4pm.

Post Easter Pics.

Here are a few pics from the Easter celebration at Urban Meadow and Mother Cabrini Park yesterday.  There was a huge turnout as always.  Younger kids hunted for eggs in the meadow and older kids were at the park.  The Easter bunny showed up too!

Mother Cabrini Halloween Parade.

Most of us know about the parade/gathering at Cobble Hill Park on Halloween.  We think it's supposed to be a parade but turns into more of a giant herd of cute tots.  A lot of people still don't know about the parade and party that happens at Mother Cabrini Park, though.  This is the tenth year it's been going on and this year it'll be on October 28th.  The normal kids activities, such as face painting will be ever present, but they'll also have a NYFD truck and a parade led by Afro Funk Jazz band Underground Horns.
