Red Hook Jazz Festival

This Sunday is day one of the Red Hook Jazz Festival. And if you can't go this Sunday, June 9th, you have a second chance next week, June 16th, to hang out in the Urban Meadow and listen to 5 different Jazz bands play (10 total for both dates).  The cost is $10 for adults and free for children.  For more information and to view the line up of musicians you can visit the Urban Meadow Blog.

Chickens at Urban Meadow.

Urban Meadow, a beautiful community garden on President and Van Brunt, has added chickens to their space.  They've had them for a little while now but just recently we noticed that a couple of them were roaming free so we snapped this pic.  The tulips and other spring flowers are blooming, along with the scattered flowering trees.  That as well as the picnic benches, brick garden paths and now the chickens strolling around make this a really cute spot.

Post Easter Pics.

Here are a few pics from the Easter celebration at Urban Meadow and Mother Cabrini Park yesterday.  There was a huge turnout as always.  Younger kids hunted for eggs in the meadow and older kids were at the park.  The Easter bunny showed up too!
