PS 29 Carnival

May 31st, this Friday, between 5pm and 8pm PS 29 is throwing a carnival celebration in it's schoolyard to welcome a new principal, Dr. Rebecca Fagin.  The amount of activities at this shindig are too many to list.  You'll probably be able to make them out on the flyer above.  Just know they'll have all the normal festivities, such as face painting and bouncy houses, plus a whole bunch of more unique activities such as a hair coloring station, hacky sack demonstration, and a fortune teller.  And food, of course, BBQ and snacks.  Should be a good time!

Help our Neighborhood Trees, Buy a Plant!

The Annual Cobble Hill Tree Fund Community Plant Sale is happening very soon, Saturday May 4th actually.  It looks like it will be a beautiful weekend.  A perfect day for this event, which will be held at the gorgeous Cobble Hill Park.  This park is in full bloom right now with flowering trees and tulips.  All funds raised at this plants sale will go towards the care and planting of neighborhood trees.  Walk over between 10:30am and 3pm to browse the selection!

Levant on Lucky Ant.

Middle Eastern restaurant Levant, on Court Street near Degraw, has a posting on Lucky Ant, a website similar to Kickstarter.  They are trying to raise funds to make some repairs to their facade and interior.  They also would like to fix their gazebo that was damaged during hurricane Sandy.  They are offering some pretty great gifts, including a "Private Party for 30 with Belly Dance" with a $1,500 donation.  In the next 20 days they are hoping to raise $3500, which is very likely.  Last Exit on Atlantic recently raised almost twice that amount to revamp their interior and add some arcade games.  Check out this website for more projects.
