Farmer's Market on Pier 6.

There's a newish farmer's market, as you can see in the pics above, at Pier 6 on Sundays.  When we went last week they had picnic tables set up and it looked really nice.  One vendor sells homemade pop tarts and another has great looking breads.  There was also a table with a huge variety of pickles and a fish monger!  There were a few other tables set up but it was pretty small in general.  Delicious array of treats, though!

Carnival in Red Hook!

Calling all vendors!  The Visitation Church Carnival (98 Richards Street in Red Hook) is set for September 14th and there is still time to rent a vendor table for $40. Tables will be set up on Verona St.  Call the rectory at 718-624-1572 for more info.  For those wanting to attend this event, it begins at 11:30am and it should be fun!

Photoville: Cool but Hot

Did anyone attend the event we blogged about called Photoville?  We went last weekend and, although the event was a great idea, it was an unfortunate weekend to have it because it was sooooooo incredibly hot.  They had delicious food vendors and the photography exhibits were wonderful.  The spot was just under the BQE in Dumbo and it was in a concrete lot, no shade, and the shipping containers seemed to be giving off heat even more.  We hope people went the weekend before when it was less sweaty.  Maybe they'll rethink doing this event in June/July if it happens again next year.
